Marula festival in Eswatini (Swaziland) happens annually and revolves around the drinking of ‘Maganu’ (traditional beer made from Marula Sclerocarya birrea fruit), dancing and celebrating the seasonal harvest of this delicious fruit. Marula is a miracle fruit delicious to eat and with a nut rich in oil offering widely renowned Marula oil health benefits.
On the 7th of February 2020 the annual Marula Festival took place at Buhleni Royal Residence. It is marked by traditional dancing and traditional Marula Beer Tasting. Females can take part in the dancing before their Majesties or watch form the grand stands. It is a spectacular show case of Swazi tradition which could make lasting memories of a Travellers experience.
Lidwala Lodge runs a Marula special where if you stay at Lidwala Lodge with us we will provide transport to and from the Marula festival which includes a traditional lunch for a charge of R400.00 per person.
For guests not staying with us but wanting to come to the festival the charge will be R550.00 per person.
